Question 1: When add in a second card, DVR program can't record additional image.
Answer: This is caused by conflicting Data Base Index. When installing additional cards, it is necessary to remove and reassign the storage space so the DVR program can properly display and record the video data. To do this, first backup all important video data from the current storage disk. Then go into the DVR program・s preference screen, delete the current storage space assignments. Close all DVR program, then delete all files inside the current storage folder, do not delete the files "location.hmi, mfile.ini, and path.hmi" (DVR program will not function properly without those 3 files). Reopen the DVR program, add the cleaned storage folder and make sure to assign all cameras to this folder or other desired folder. The DVR program should now work properly. If this does not fix the problem, follow the uninstall procedure to complete remove the DVR software then reinstall it again.
Question 2: How do I record?
Answer: Make sure the storage space for recording is listed under preference. If not, manually add the desired drive location for data storage. Too add storage space, make sure to setup a video data folder on the desire hard disk. Then go into the DVR program, click on preference. A new window will pop up, under the general tab, click on Add, then browse through the disks to find the video data folder created earlier then click ok. The new storage space will be listed in the general tab window.
Question 3: DVR program does not display correct time.
Answer: By default, the DVR program reads the date and time from the operating system (Windows), if DVR program does not display correct time, closed the DVR program. Check the date and time in the OS to make sure it is setup properly. If the time is still incorrect, shut down then reboot the PC, go into BIOS during boot up, this can be done by pressing the DEL or F2 button (this varies depending on the mainboard manufacturer), check the time in the BIOS to make sure it is properly setup. If the problem remains, replace the battery on the mainboard.
Question 4: DVR program not showing correct corresponding recording channels.
Answer: Only 1 DVR program is allow to be installed at any given time. If the previous installation was not wiped clean, this can affect the performance of the new installation. To complete remove DVR program follow the uninstall procedure for DVR2400.
Question 5: In the preference screen under the general window, what・s the function of "enable dynamic IP"?
Answer: This is to allow connection to our Taiwan・s DDNS Server. This does not allow the program to automatically configure remote access with dynamic IP connection. Question 6: Is there any SSH (security encryption) available for the VNC port?
Answer: No, security encryption is currently not available. VNC port is used for remote service provide by CCSG, it is not require for remote viewing, hence customer can keep it disable to avoid security breach through the VNC port.
Question 7: Site server does not fit properly on the screen (LCD) in windows system?
Answer: This is due to incorrect refresh rate setting in the OS, check the property of the screen settings, by default the refresh rate is set to 60Hz, might need to increase it to 70~75Hz depending on the LCD panel or until DVR program aligns with the screen.
Question 8: Wireless IP camera does not work properly.
Answer: Wireless CCTV camera requires a great amount of resources to run properly. Further more, the wireless signal might be interrupted from time to time and cause the system to allocated additional resources to decode the incoming signal, this can lead to system crash or other recording problems.
Question 9: What is the recommended maximum storage space?
Answer: For DVR2400 V2.0b the recommended maximum storage space is 1TB. For the Hupervision software V1.4, it is 8TB.
Question 10: Can I control 32 channels on the same computer?
Answer: It is possible to run 32 channels on the same computer. However, due to limitation on current version of software, each DVR program can only open up to 16 channels. Therefore, to view 32 channels, it is required to use a special version of the DVR software which allows opening 2 DVR programs of 16 channels each. Furthermore, the PC will need to have dual monitor output capability in order to display one DVR program per screen for 16 + 16 channels display for a total of 32 channels. Question 1: Error Code:80004001 is shown while starting huperVision site server.
Answer: ErrorCode:80004001 means that your display card driver doesn・t support :DirectDraw Acceleration; function. Please update your display card driver.
Question 2: Captions become black in huperVision site server.
Answer: Black captions are resulted by certain display card drivers, such as Nvidia 8500, and 8600 series. Update the following files in your huperVision program.

Question 3: What is the function of the two white boxes in the active menu (bottom right hand corner of windows screen)?
Answer: The white boxes are for displaying the number of video channels being remotely viewed at the time. For example, in a 16 channel machine, if one person is remotely viewing all 16 channels, the number will be 16. If 2 remote viewers are connected to view all 16 channels, the number will be 32.
Question 4: What・s the difference in different quality under camera recording setting in preference?
Answer: There are 3 different quality settings; fast, good and best. The major difference between the settings is the amount of CPU consumption used to compress the video image. Fast setting requires the lowest CPU power, while Best requires the most. By default, this is set to Good quality.
Question 5: How much hard disk space is needed for 1 full day recording?
Answer: The amount of disk space needed depends on the recording settings and number of chips on the capture card. In general, a 4 channel 30/30 FPS capture card has only 1 chip, and it is set to record at 320x240 resolution with non stop smart recording will require 5GB per day. Therefore, 8 channel 240/240 FPS capture card with the same setting will require 8 times the space which is 40GB per day.
Question 6: What・s the difference between the different recording modes?
Answer: Non Stop Recording - Recording continuously at setting.
Non Stop Smart Recording - Recording continuously at setting, but reduce to 1 FPS when there is no motion detected.
Event only Recording - Only records when motion is detected.
Time lapse Recording - Recording on set time intervals.
Question 7: What ports need to be forward on the router for remote viewing?
Answer: There are 5 ports, they are listed in the table below:

Note: VNC port is only use for remote service, unless it is necessary, it does not need to be enabled. The rest of the ports need to be enabled for remote access.

Question 1: DVR 2400 driver and software uninstallation procedure:
Answer: 1. Use the uninstall function of the DVR software to uninstall the DVR program.
a. Do this by going into the start menu -> DVR2400 -> Uninstall.
2. Remove the DVR log and drivers in windows.
a. Go to your local disk (usually the C: drive, or where the Operation system is installed), delete the text file named BtDrv. Then go into program files folder, delete DVR folder.
b. Go back out of program files folder, go into Windows folder, click on system32 folder, then click on the drivers folder. Delete the files named: HMCap2R and HMAud2R.
3. Now uninstall the driver by using the software disk.
a. Insert the DVR software disk that came with the capture card into the optical drive. Exit the autorun window. Go to my computer and right click on the optical drive then choose open. This will open the DVR software disk for browsing the files. Click on the HMCap2R folder, then click on the uninstall icon to run driver uninstallation.
4. Restart the computer and reinstall the software.
a. If this still does not fix the problem. Repeat the uninstall procedure then download and install the newest DVR program (DVR 2.0b) from our website.

Question 1: HuperVision driver and software uninstallation procedure:
Answer: 1. Use the uninstall function of the HuperVision software to uninstall the DVR program
a. Do this by going into the start menu -> HuperVision 1.4 -> Uninstall.
2. Remove the DVR log and drivers in windows.
a. Go to your local disk (usually the C: drive, or where the Operation system is installed), delete the text file named BtDrv. Then go into program files folder, delete Huperlab folder.
b. Go back out of program files folder, go into Windows folder, click on system32 folder, then click on the drivers folder. Delete the files named: HMCap2R and HMAud2R.
3. Now uninstall the driver by using the software disk.
