Question 1: Power LED on the DVR's Power Button is flashing.
Answer: This indicates the memory modules were not properly detected by the mainboard, shut off the system, disconnect all power cables, then reject and reinstall the memory modules.
Question 2: How do I export?
Answer: Create a new data folder on the desktop, move all the data for export to the new data folder. Use the included burning software to burn to disk or copy to portable devices. When exporting, make sure the blank media shows up in the system (i.e. blank CD). IF not picked up by DVR Software, please click refreshes Button on the Lower Right Corner of the GUI Template.
Question 3: My default login and password did not work what to do?
Answer: Restart the system, go into system tool in the main menu before the machine go into DVR program. Reset to default settings. Shut down and reboot. By Doing So, your previous setting will be reset to Factory default Level.
Question 4: My DVR program did not load what to do?
Answer: This can be caused by conflicting drive priority between the DOM and the ATA/SATA HD in the computer・s BIOS. To check, shut down then reboot the system, during boot up, make sure DOM is on primary IDE channel 0 or 1 (depends on MB). If not, it needs to be manually set to IDE channel 1. First shut down the system, and unplug all power. Make sure all other IDE devices were set to slave with jumper setting. Unplug the SATA cable from the motherboard, and then plug it to the last SATA port (i.e. SATA 2 if the board has 4 connectors). Boot up the system, the BIOS should automatically set DOM to primary IDE channel 1. Another way is to disconnect SATA HD, and then boot up the system, BIOS should set DOM to primary IDE channel 1. Shut down then reconnect SATA cable to the last SATA port and restart.

Another cause is corrupted DOM software. This can be corrected by reinstall the DOM software from the optical drive or USB devices (DOM software is not included with system, but it is available for download on CCSG website under support).

In the DVR program, go into setup and click on the "audio" tab, all available audio channels will be listed with the onboard audio listed as onboard, and the rest in numeric order. Use the drop down menu to select the camera channel desired to associate with the audio input. Save and exit. In the playback mode, audio output is only available when the camera assigned with the audio-in had being maximized to full screen (single channel viewing mode) and the mute button on the audio volume unchecked.
Question 10: What・s the recommended recording resolution and quality setup for the DVR?
Answer: The maximum resolution available on the Linux DVR is 640 x 480 and the max quality available is .Best・. Users can adjust the resolution and quality setting as desired. However, since the communication bridge between the capture cards and the computer is the PCI-bridge, maximum data transfer is limited by the PCI connector・s bandwidth. Thus, for DVR with more then 8 Channels, it is recommended not to max out all the settings because this can cause data traffic jam on the PCI connector which can lead to system instability. For resolution at 640 x 480, video quality should be limited to middle. Best video quality should only be use when resolution is set to 320 x 240.
Question 11: While setting up remote viewing, what・s the recommended DNS setting?
Answer: If the connection has dynamic IP, it is recommended to select auto (DHCP) for the DNS. If the connection type is static IP, it is recommended to use the DNS address provided by the ISP provider. While connecting through a router with static IP, it is not recommended to use router・s default gateway as the DNS address, user should use the DNS address provided by the ISP provider.
Question 12: What・s the difference between administrator and user account?
Answer: When setting up an account, selecting as an administrator will automatically grant the account full access to the DVR (remote playback, setup, view). While selecting as a user account allows administrator to edit the accessibility of DVR remote functions per camera for this account.
